MODESTO, Calif.-Senior thrower Gaute Myklebust broke his own school record with a toss of 60.85m (199-08.00) at the Modesto Relays Saturday at the Modesto Junior College Track. The meet featured some of the top athletes on an invitation basis within the nation and internationally.

Myklebust set a new school record (breaking his own) at the Bulldog Relays on March 27 with a throw of 59.33m. His new season best mark of 60.85m is the best in C-USA and ranks fourth in the nation in 2004.

Senior Stein Syverson became the eighth Memphis Tiger to qualify for the NCAA Regional when he earned a mark of 16.48m in the shot put. Syverson and Myklebust, both hailing from Norway, were the only Tigers that competed this weekend.

Myklebust and Syverson along with the rest of the Memphis Track & Field team will compete at the C-USA Championships this week in Louisville, Ky.
