Freshman sensation Aaron Whetstone earned his first C-USA title by winning the men's triple jump with a mark of 16.60 meters (54-05.50). His personal-best jump set a new school record, broke the two year old meet record and earned him all-conference first team honors. Entering the meet Whetstone was ranked 67th on the NCAA Division I performance list. Because his mark of 16.60m was wind aided at 4.1 (legal limit is 4.0), his second-best mark of 16.26m which is within the legal limit will be used instead for rankings. He has propelled him all the way to the No. 7 spot and is the best jump in the Mid East area. If his jump was legal it would have put him in the No. 1 spot.
