Durham, N.C.-- - Sophomore Delvit Rogers competed in his first NCAA Championship event, finishing 18th in the long jump at the Track and Field Championships, Wednesday.

The sophomore posted a best jump of 6.84 meters (22-5.25) in the preliminary rounds, failing to qualify for the finals to improve his mark. The event was won by Mississippi's Savante Stringfellow with a distance of 26-9.75 feet.

Rogers has Thursday off from competition and will compete in the triple jump, Friday.
