IRVING, Texas - - Sophomore hurdler Darius Anderson (Austin, Texas/Lyndon B. Johnson) was named to the Conference USA Track and Field All-Academic team it was announced on Tuesday.

Anderson, the lone Tiger men's track and field athlete named to the team, is receiving his first league academic honor after earning third team all-conference honors following his third-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles at the outdoor championships earlier this spring.

Anderson is majoring in physics and carries a 3.46 GPA in his second season of competition. This is his second academic honor in a week, as he was also named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar second team honoree earlier this week.
