Men's Cross Country Garners Regional Ranking

MEMPHIS, Tenn.- University of Memphis men's cross country squad returned to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Region Top-15, the organization announced on Monday. Memphis ranks No. 11 in the USTFCCA South Region, above Chattanooga (12), Belmont (13), Mercer (14) and North Florida (15).
Florida State tops the list at No.1, followed by Georgia (2), Florida (3), Auburn (5) and Tennessee (5) to round out the top-five. The Tigers started the season at No. 13 but fell out of the top-15 in week two.
Memphis returned to the rankings following their second top-10 team finish of the season at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic (10th of 24). In the first week of the season the Tigers finished fourth under grueling conditions at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
Teammates Daniel Kuhman and James Maglasang have each recorded top-10 individual finishes this season. Maglasang (20:48.85) and Kuhman (20:53.68) finished sixth and seventh respectively at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic, while Kuhman (24:57.48) scored a second top-10 at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic taking ninth.
