2007 Outdoor Schedule
Oct. 18, 2006 MEMPHIS - MEMPHIS - Memphis head track and field coach Kevin Robinson announced his team's indoor and outdoor schedules for the 2007 season Wednesday, and feels that both include significant upgrades in the level of competition from previous years. "We're really excited about this schedule," said Robinson. "We're going to be competing in top level meets against some of the nation's best teams every week. These are the kind of experiences I want our team to have, and I think they will benefit us as we try to build a quality track program here at Memphis." The Tigers' first indoor meet will be Dec. 3 at the ASU Early Bird hosted by Arkansas State. The indoor schedule will be highlighted by events at perennial powerhouses Arkansas and LSU. Memphis travels to Baton Rouge, La. twice, for the Bayou Bengal Invitational on Jan. 26-27 and the LSU Twilight on Feb. 16. The Conference USA Indoor Championships are scheduled for Feb. 23-24 in Houston and the NCAA Championships are slated for March 9-10. The Tigers' outdoor schedule will be equally challenging. Following an opening meet at Rhodes on March 17, Memphis travels to Alabama and Mississippi State before the prestigious Texas Relays, April 5-7.
