Tigers tip up exhibition game at 2 p.m.
As the 2013-14 Memphis athletics season approaches, the women's basketball team is already called in for their team photo day. During the shoot, we talked to Ariel Hearn and Mooriah Rowser about their summer workouts and the upcoming season in the new American Athletic Conference.
Prep: Played at Obion County Central High School for coach Lyle LaRue....Was an three-time all-state honoree and helped her Lady Rebels team to the Class 2A state championship game in 2012...Was named the District 13 AA MVP, along with being named to the all-region 7AA regular season and all-tournament teams....Was also all-district and all-state for three seasons...Helped Obion Country Central to 118 career wins in her prep career, including a 35-3 record in her junior year...Finished her prep career as one of just four players in Obion Country Central history to score over 2,000 points....Averaged a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds a game as a junior...Finalist for Tennessee Miss Basketball award....Averaged 22 points, 14 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game as a senior....Also finished her prep career with over 1600 rebounds, just missing Nikki McCray's state record of 1,720 in a prep career...Was a three-star signee on ESPN's recruiting site...Played AAU ball with the KC Select with fellow Memphis teammate Taylor Williams.
Personal: Daughter of Debi and Tony Goodman...Also considered playing at Michigan and South Carolina.
