As the 2013-14 Memphis athletics season approaches, the women's basketball team is already called in for their team photo day. During the shoot, we talked to Ariel Hearn and Mooriah Rowser about their summer workouts and the upcoming season in the new American Athletic Conference.

Scored a career-best 16 points in a win at UCF, going 9-for-12 from the free-throw line ... Scored double digit points 10 times, including 12 in an overtime win over No. 23 Rutgers, the program's first win over a ranked opponent since 2003 ... Named CollegeSportsMadness.com's American Athletic Conference player of the week on Dec. 9th after knocking down two free-throws with four seconds left to help Memphis hang on for a 73-72 win over UAB ... Finished with 14 points and seven assists against just three turnovers in the win ... Missed just one game in her freshman campaign after going headfirst into the sideline boards in a road game at Louisville ... Missed the subsequent game against UCF.
Helped her Hoover High School team to a 130-12 record over four seasons, including three state championships (2010, 2012, 2013) and a state runner-up finish in 2011...A three-star recruit by ESPNHoopgurlz.com...The No. 28 ranked guard in her class...Averaged 10.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists at Hoover for coach Tiffany Frederick...Helped her high school team to a 33-4 record, an Alabama Class 6A State Championship, a No. 14 national ranking by maxpreps.com in her senior season...Played in the Alabama North-South All-Star game as a junior and the Alabama vs. Mississippi All-Star game as a senior...Named MVP for the area tournament as a senior...Also played AAU ball with both Essence & the Alabama Twisters, where she was coached by Kim Davis and Chris Anderson...Led the team with 78 steals and shot 60 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 85 percent from the free-throw line.
