Mike Jenkins joined the Tiger Strength & Conditioning staff in July of 2008. He is responsible for the strength and conditioning training of the volleyball, women's basketball, softball, tennis, golf and women's soccer programs.

Jenkins is no stranger to Memphis, having spent the past three seasons as an athletic trainer/strength coach at D1SportsTraining in Cordova. There, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility and for facilitating the D1 training programs and techniques, managing facility personnel and directing special events and marketing.

A 1990 graduate of Texas A&M, Jenkins worked as a graduate assistant and then a restricted earning assistant in the Aggies strength and conditioning department from 1990-1994. He then served as the head strength coach at Weber State University from 1994-1998, where he implemented the speed and strength programs for WSU's 13 sports programs.

Jenkins left Weber State in 1998, joining the strength and conditioning staff at Marshall from 1998-2005. With the Thundering Herd, Jenkins served as the head strength and conditioning coach, working with volleyball, track and field and baseball.

He is certified with the CSCC, and has level one certification with the United States Weight Lifting Foundation.

A native of Bryan, Texas, Jenkins received his bachelor's degree in secondary education in 1990 from Texas A&M and earned his master's degree in kinesiology in 1992, also from Texas A&M.
