MEMPHIS - - The University of Memphis Greek organizations will begin their Greek Olympics at the women's basketball game against UCF, Sunday. The Greek Olympics will take place over six home games during the spring semester and the fraternities and sororities at Memphis will compete in halftime competitions for a season-ending $200 donation to their respective philanthropies. There will also be a $100 prize to the sorority/fraternity that shows the most spirit throughout the games and participates in the themes throughout the remainder of the season.

Each game will have a theme. At halftime, Greek organizations can earn participation points for their organizations, which will be tallied at the end of the Olympics to determine the winning organization. The dates of the games and the themes are as follows:

Sunday, January 27 vs. UCF @ 2:00 PM - Hawaiian Theme
Thursday, January 31 vs. Rice @7:00 PM - Super Hero Theme
Thursday, February 14 vs. UAB @ 7:00 PM - Formal Theme
Sunday, February 17 vs. SMU @ 2:00 PM - Pink/Breast Cancer Awareness Theme
Sunday, February 24 vs. UTEP @ 2:00 PM - Greek Gods Theme

The winning fraternities and sororities will be recognized at halftime of the game on Thursday, March 7 vs. Marshall at 7 p.m.

Participants will need to check in at the marketing table for each game.
