The University of Memphis women's basketball team (17-12, 10-6) has wrapped the regular season and now awaits East Carolina for the GMC Sierra 2010 Conference USA Women's Basketball Championships, Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m. The Tigers finished in a three-way tie for second in the league standings, but lost to both Houston and SMU, the other two teams in the tie, so Memphis will be the No. 4 seed for the draw, receiving a first-round bye on Monday. East Carolina took the Tigers to overtime in their last meeting. ECU swept the regular season meetings with Memphis, including a one-point overtime loss on a three-point field goal with 3.5 seconds remaining in the overtime session last Saturday. The No. 4 seed is the highest Tiger seed since the 1999-2000 season, when the Tigers were a No. 3 seed for the C-USA Championships. That Tiger squad finished with an 18-12 record and advanced to the second round of the WNIT. The quarterfinal games of the tournament are not televised. Fans who are not traveling to Tulsa can view the live streaming video of the game through an All-Access subscription for just $9.95 a month.
