MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - University of Memphis women's basketball coach Melissa McFerrin will present two sessions at the Texas Girls Coaches Association on Wednesday, July 14th in Arlington, Texas, as part of the organization's 2010 Summer Clinic. McFerrin will present two one-hour sessions on "Memphis' Transition System" to the coaches in attendance. The first session will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in Salon B, and the second session will run from noon to 1:00 p.m., also in Salon B.

McFerrin recently guided the Memphis Tiger women's basketball team to its first 20-win season and its first post-season appearance since 2003-04 in just her second year at the helm of the program. The Tigers advanced to the finals of the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) last year and return nine letterwinners and four starters from last season's 20-14 squad for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. After guiding the Tigers to the post-season, she was awarded a contract extension to the 2014-2015 season.

Memphis has two Texas natives on their roster for the upcoming season, senior forward Taylor Mumphrey (Dallas/Cedar Hill/Connors State JC) and incoming freshman Sharee "KK" Harvey (Mesquite/North Mesquite HS). Assistant coach Brett Schneider is also a Texas product, hailing from West Texas.

Memphis will open its 2010-2011 season on the front end of a double-header with the Tiger men's basketball team. The women's team will host Big 12 foe Missouri, a team they defeated, 75-74, on the road last season.
