Castellenze, Italy - - The University of Memphis women's basketball team improved to 3-0 on its Italian trip with a 117-38 win over a tier two professional Italian league team on Tuesday night. The Tigers' athletic ability again ran the opponents down, opening up the perimeter, where freshman Jailyn Norris took advantage, knocking down five of eight three-point field goal attempts in a 27 point night. Norris added six rebounds and six steals in the win and shot 10-for-13 from the field.

Inside, senior post Jasmine Lee was too much for the Flyers to handle. Lee scored 24 points, with 11 rebounds, adding five steals. Another Tiger freshman in double digit points was Ann Jones, who finished with 12 points on 6-for-8 shooting. Senior guard Ramses Lonlack also got in the double-digit points list, finishing with 11 points and five assists.

The Tigers out-rebounded the opposition 59-16 and out-scored them 40-4 in the fourth quarter.

Memphis was to have played the Nigerian National Team on Tuesday, but visa issues trapped the Nigerian squad in Belgium and the local second tier Italian league team came out of their respective vacations a little early in order to give Memphis a Tuesday night opponent.

The Tigers will close out the trip on Wednesday with a rematch against the All-Star team that Memphis faced in Florence. The Tigers' original opponent for that series was a German team, who had players injured and unavailable, so they withdrew from the Tigers' slate and were replaced with the All-Star squad. Memphis won the first match-up with the All-Star team, 109-48.

The Wednesday game will mark the final game of the trip for Memphis, who flies back to the United States on Thursday.
