The American Athletic Conference released the 2014-15 conference schedule, Thursday. Included in Memphis' conference slate are three televised games, including the conference opener. Memphis will open its conference slate
Two other Memphis games will be carried on TV, including a visit from defending national champion, UConn (on SNY) and a return visit to the Huskies in Storrs on Feb. 28th on CBS Sports Network.
Memphis will face WNIT semifinalist USF in its first American Athletic Conference road game on the new slate, playing in Tampa on New Years Eve.
Memphis will return home to begin January to host league newcomer East Carolina, Jan. 4th, then will go on the road to play at UCF (Jan. 7) and Tulsa (Jan. 10). The Tigers will return home to host Cincinnati (Jan. 14), then will venture back to North Carolina to face East Carolina (Jan. 18). The Tigers spend the second half of the month by hosting Houston (Jan. 24), returning a trip to Cincinnati (Jan. 28) and closing the month with a home game against USF (Jan. 31).
The Tigers have seven conference games on the slate for the month of February. Memphis will fly to Philadelphia to face Temple, Feb. 4, then will return home to host Connecticut at FedExForum, Feb. 7. Memphis will alternate road and home games the rest of the month, playing at Houston, Feb. 11, then hosting UCF, Feb. 17.
In the new conference alignment, Memphis has two teams it will face just one time during the season. The first of those will be a Feb. 21st game at Tulane. After returning to Memphis to host Tulsa (Feb. 24), then making a trip to Storrs, Conn., to face the two-time defending national champs for a second time on the season (Feb. 28), the Tigers will face their other one-time opponent when SMU comes to town for the regular season finale Mar. 2nd.
Memphis will participate in The American Athletic Conference tournament, Mar. 6-9th at The Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., for a second straight season.
