University of Memphis Basketball Head Coaches to Offer Coaching Tips at Memphis Grizzlies' First Annual Coaches Clinic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - University of Memphis head basketball coaches Josh Pastner and Melissa McFerrin will each be teaching the teachers as part of the Memphis Grizzlies' First Annual Coaches Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 12th. The Tiger coaches will be two of six coaches offering various tips at the clinic. Cost of registration is $69 and includes admission to the coaching clinic, a light breakfast and lunch and a Memphis Grizzlies duffle bag for the first 100 coaches to sign up. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Grizzlies Coventry Health Care Practice Facility at FedExForum, and the clinic begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. Other coaches teaching in the clinic are Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins, Southwest Tennessee Community College head coach Vertie Sails, Grizzlies assistant coach Barry Hecker and Ben Jobe, former coach to Avery Johnson at Southern University. McFerrin is in her second season as the University of Memphis women's basketball coach and has already helped the Tigers increase attendance by over 80 percent in one season. She returns three starters and will have eight new players eligible to play this upcoming season, including senior point guard LaToya Bullard, a Memphis native. Pastner is in his second season overall at Memphis, but is in his first year as the head coach of the Tiger program that also calls FedExForum home.
