MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - Two more veteran coaches have been added to the teaching schedule for the Melissa McFerrin Hoops School 2009 Coaches Clinic, Saturday, Oct. 24th. WNBA head coach Lin Dunn was already on the schedule for the all-day clinic, but another WNBA veteran coach has been added with the addition of Seattle Storm assistant coach Nancy Darsch. The clinic has also added a veteran coach from the college ranks, as Union University head coach Mark Campbell will join the presenters at the clinic after guiding Union University to three NAIA National Championships in the past five seasons.

Both WNBA coaches who will be teaching at the clinic guided their respective teams to the playoffs. Dunn's Indiana Fever squad finished with the WNBA's second-best regular season record, with a 22-12 mark. The Fever then swept the Washington Mystics, 2-0, to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, which will begin Wednesday in Detroit.

Darsch's Seattle squad finished as the second seed in the West, finishing with a 20-14 mark. Seattle was eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday with a 75-64 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks, the No. 3 seed in the West. Darsch has coached at both the professional and major college levels for nearly 25 seasons, including a stint as the head coach for the New York Liberty. She has also won two Olympic gold medals (1984 and 1996) as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women's Olympic basketball teams.

Mark Campbell is in his 11th season as the head coach at Union University, just up the road in Jackson, Tenn. Campbell is coming off his third NAIA National Title (2005, 2006, 2009) in five seasons. He has also guided Union to the NAIA Fab Four for five straight seasons, finishing the 2008-2009 season with a 37-1 record and the NAIA National Title. Over the past two seasons, he has coached his teams to a combined 72-2 record and improved his career record to 328-44. He is currently in second place on the all-time coaches win list at Union and his .882 winning percentage ranks No. 1 among active NAIA women's basketball coaches with five or more seasons under their belts.

The clinic will open with registration and breakfast from 8:30-9:15 a.m. in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Following introductions, Campbell will be the first coach presenting at the clinic, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Darsch will follow Campbell's presentation from 10:30-11:30 a.m., then lunch will be provided from 11:30-12:30. Memphis head coach Melissa McFerrin will then present her hour's worth of practice and training tips from 12:30-1:30 p.m. before Lin Dunn closes the coaches' part of the clinic from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Participants in the coaches clinic will then be able to watch a University of Memphis women's basketball practice from 2:30-5:00 p.m. before closing remarks.
