MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - Junior center Pa'Sonna Hope (Cleveland, Ohio/Regina HS) has been granted a waiver by the NCAA and will be immediately eligible for the 2012-13 women's basketball season. Hope played the last two seasons at Ole Miss before transferring to Memphis this summer. She played in 48 games at Ole Miss, including 21 starts in 25 games as a freshman. In her freshman campaign, she averaged 7.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. She also added 22 blocks as a freshman and ranked ninth in the SEC with 67 offensive rebounds in 2011. She also played in 23 games in her sophomore season.

A 2010 graduate of Regina High School in Cleveland, Ohio, she helped her prep team to a combined 54-2 record in her last two seasons, including a 27-0 mark and a state championship her junior year. She played club basketball with the Sports City U program, the same club team that Tigers' teammates Jaymie Jackson (Toledo, Ohio/Start HS) and Courtney Powell (Youngstown, Ohio/Ursuline HS) played for.

The addition of Hope up front will help the Tigers offset the loss of 2012 Conference USA Player of the Year Jasmine Lee, who averaged a double-double for the Tigers last year, and two-year letterwinner Kiana James to graduation. Hope, a 6-0 post, will join juniors KK Harvey and Devin Mack, sophomore Ann Jones, freshmen Courtney Powell and Asianna Fuqua-Bey and senior Nicole Dickson on the Tigers' front line this season.

The Tigers open their 2012-13 season with an exhibition game against in-town foe Rhodes College on Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 2 p.m. in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Season tickets for the entire 2012-13 season are now on sale through the University of Memphis website or by calling 901-678-2331. A family pack of tickets for two adults and two children for the entire season is just $125 and is available by calling the ticket office. All other season tickets, including chairback reserved seats, University of Memphis faculty/staff season tickets and senior season tickets can be purchased online here.
