MEMPHIS, TENN. - The University of Memphis women's basketball team completed its third practice of the season and coach Joye Lee-McNelis is very pleased.

The squad worked out for three hours on fundamentals and drills as well as transition plays. They also lifted weights after practice for a half hour.

"For our third day of practice, I am very pleased," said McNelis. "I am pleased with the energy, intensity and eagerness to learn that all of these players have shown. Our younger players are picking things up fairly quickly, and our returning players have really stepped their game up and have shown positive leadership."

McNelis says that she has been most impressed with sophomore Deanna Farr who has shown promise on both ends of the floor. A 6-2 center from Pontotoc, Miss., Farr saw limited action as a freshman, averaging 1.2 rebounds in her 19 games played.
