Fans will have to take a long lunch in order to catch a peek at the Memphis women's basketball team as the Tigers will host a traveling exhibition game, DT-3, at 11:30 a.m., Friday, in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. Admission is free for everyone for the lone exhibition game of the Memphis schedule.
Tiger fans who join the team on Friday morning will see an entirely new offensive and defensive philosophy, something that has been implemented piece-by-piece in practice.
"We're making slow progress on the offensive end of the floor in learning the intricacies of a new offensive system," Head Coach Melissa McFerrin said. "Our effort on the defensive end of the floor has been good, and I hope it typifies who we will be in the future. I've been pleased with the effort and pace of learning, but it is a slow process for an entire team to learn the new system."
The game tips at 11:30 a.m. and can be heard on 91.7 FM WUMR with Jeff Brightwell on the play-by-play. Fans outside of the WUMR listening area can sign up for a subscription to All-Access on www.gotigersgo.com and listen to the audio stream of WUMR's feed there. The cost of a monthly subscription is $9.95 a month and includes all video and audio links for not only women's basketball, but for all Tiger sports. Season tickets are also still available. Chairback reserved seats are $75.00 for the entire season, while general admission bleacher seats are just $50. Senior citizens can purchase a season ticket for $40, while a family can purchase a Family Pass, which includes two adults and three children, for just $100.
Parking passes for the garage attached to the Elma Roane Fieldhouse are also available for purchase from the University of Memphis ticket office and cost $45.00 per pass.
