In game two of the 16th annual Lady Tiger Classic, Texas A&M defeated Northwestern State, 73-64. The Aggies will face Memphis in the championship game at 5 p.m. on Saturday, while Northwestern State will meet East Tennessee State at 3 p.m. in the consolation game.
Jaynetta Saunders led in the Texas A&M victory with 22 points off a 10-of-19 shooting effort from the field. Also scoring in double digits for the Aggies were LaToya Rose with 14 points, and Toccara Williams and Brandy Jones who both added 11 points apiece. Saunders also led her squad in rebounding, pulling down nine boards.
Kia Converse led NSU's efforts with 18 points and 17 rebounds. She also totaled four assists and two steals in the loss. Angela Davidson and Nikki Vernon both scored in double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Northwestern State dropped to 1-1 on the year, while A&M improved to 3-0.
