Breigha Wilder-Cochran Earns Weekly Honor

Freshman guard Breigha Wilder-Cochran was named www.CollegeSportsMadness.com’s American Athletic Conference player of the week on Monday. The freshman was also named to the American Athletic Conference honor roll for her performance in Saturday’s 73-72 win over UAB.
Wilder-Cochran knocked down two free-throws with four seconds left in the game to help Memphis (4-5) hang on to a 73-72 win over UAB (6-4), Saturday. The win snapped a four-game winning streak for UAB and a four-game losing streak for the Tigers. Wilder-Cochran finished with 14 points, one from her career-high, adding seven assists (which tied her career high) against just three turnovers in 31 minutes. The freshman guard was 5 for 10 from the field, also adding five rebounds and a steal.
Wilder-Cochran leads Memphis with 37 assists through the first nine games of the season, and ranks second on the team with 12 steals and third with 9.0 ppg.
She and her Tiger teammates will play their lone road game of December on Saturday following final exams. Memphis will play a non-conference game at Tennessee Tech, the Ohio Valley conference pre-season pick to win the East Division.
