@MemphisWGolf Finishes Second at Lady Eagle Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Memphis women's golf team posted a second-place finish at the Lady Eagle Invitational at Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Memphis posted a 309 in Tuesday's final round to finish with an event score of 611, three strokes behind team champion Southern Miss. South Alabama (614), Houston Baptist (617) and Murray State (621) rounded out the top five.
Individually, it was another strong event for the Lady Tigers, with all seven participants posting top-35 finishes.
Leighann Cabush posted her second top-five finish of the season, finishing tied for fifth place after a final round score of 78. Joining Cabush in the top-10 was Ashleigh Whisenant, who finished tied for 8th place (72-80 - 152). This result was Whisenant's first top-10 finish in her Memphis career.
Natalie Turk matched a season-best round of 75 on Tuesday and finished tied for 20th place in the event. This was Turk's first top-20 finish of the season and the third top-20 finish of her career.
Julia Gerlach posted her third top-30 finish of the season, finishing tied for 28th place after shooting a 36-hole score of 159.
Andrea Cropper, also playing as an individual, posted the first top-35 finish of her Memphis career. The redshirt freshman finished tied for 34th place after carding a career-best round of 78 on Tuesday.
Brandi Rodriguez of Southern Miss was the individual champion, winning the event by one stroke and finishing seven shots ahead of Cabush.
Coming off of consecutive top-two finishes, the Lady Tigers are back on the course at the UC Spring Invitational in Crystal River, Fla. from March 21-23.
