Conaty and Tate Lead Memphis in Second Round of UNLV Invite

For Immediate Release LAS VEGAS - Junior Stacey Tate and sophomore Dawn-Marie Conaty both shot even par for the University of Memphis women's golf team in the second round of UNLV Spring Invite on Tuesday. Memphis moved up three spots to end the second round in a ninth place tie with a 308-300--608. Tournament host UNLV leads the competition with a 3-over 579, six strokes better than Long Beach State. Tate jumped up three spots to end the day in a tie for fourth with a 1-under 143, three strokes behind the leader's, New Mexico's Mikaela Backstedt and Long Beach State's Kay Hoey. Conaty matched Tate's round performance and moved from 57th to a 34th place tie with a 7-over 151. Freshman Rachel Larson shot a 4-over 77 to push her total to 161, while freshman Kayla Stewart is third on the team with a 156 36-hole total. Senior Bernie Rosero is one stroke behind Larson with a 162. Memphis will compete in the final round of the three-round tournament on Wednesday.
