Lady Tigers Finish Tied for 11th in AdminiStaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate

AUGUSTA. Ga. -Marissa Steen carded a final-round 73 and turned in her seventh top-10 finish of the season to lead the University of Memphis women's golf team in the AdminiStaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate. Steen, who stumbled to an opening-round 80, found her game and responded with scores of 68-73 in the subsequent two rounds to earn a share of ninth position individually. Kathleen Glavin finished in a tie for 36th after following a 148 36-hole total with an 81 in the final round. Ashley Kees posted rounds of 75-80-81 and finished in a tie for 58th position, while Alex Aläng finished 60th with scores of 80-79-78. Julia Hodgson (78-84-80) finished in a tie for 76th. The Lady Tigers finished with a 54-hole total of 920 (306-302-312) and landed in a tie for 11th position in the 17-team field. No. 8 Purdue(290-294-275) blistered Forest Hills Golf Club Monday morning, turning in a team score of 275 (-13) in the final round to beat out tournament-host Augusta State (289-293-297)by 20 strokes. Texas San Antonio finished third with a 54-hole total of 887 (296-295-296). Casey Kennedy (Augusta Stae) claimed medalist honors with an 11-under-par tournament-total, defeating the 51st-ranked Paula Reto (Purdue) and 22nd-ranked Numa Gulyanamitta (Purdue). Memphis has a short turnaround as the Lady Tigers will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. for the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational on March 21-22.
