Women's Golf Wraps Day One at Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate

The University of Memphis women's golf team fired a 335 in the opening round of the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., Friday.
Julia Hodgson and Alex Aläng lead Memphis through the first round. Hodgson posted a seven-over score of 79, picking up a birdie on 15, to rank tied for 43rd among the individuals, while Aläng picked up birdies on six and 15 and finished tied for 75 with an 11 over 83 on day one.
The stacked tournament field features six top-50 ranked teams, including No. 9 Vanderbilt, No. 16 Purdue and No. 22 Texas, who rank one through three in the field at the end of the first day. Vanderbilt leads the field at +2 (290), while Purdue is five strokes back at +5 (295). Texas rounds out the top three at +11 (299).
Vanderbilt's Lauren Stratton, the No. 27 ranked golfer in the country, leads the field at -3 with teammate Jenny Hahn tied with Augusta State's Natalie Wille right behind her at -2.
