Tate Ties for Fourth at UNLV Spring Invite

For Immediate Release LAS VEGAS - Stacey Tate finished in the top four for the second-straight tournament as the University of Memphis women's golf team placed 12th at the UNLV Spring Invite on Wednesday. Tate, a junior from New Zealand, shot a 1-over 217 to tie for fourth in the three-round tournament hosted by UNLV. The 56-hole 217 is Tate's third best career total. After earning medalist honors at the Pat Bradley Championship in Florida on Feb. 22, Tate finished in the top 10 for the eighth time in her two-year career at Memphis that encompasses 16 tournaments. Tate finished six strokes behind Indiana's Shannon Johnson who earned medalist honors. The Tigers finished 12th in the 19 team field with a 925 56-hole total. UNLV won the tournament with a 15-over 879. Sophomore transfer Dawn-Marie Conaty finished with a career 56-hole best 236 to tie for 63rd. The Ireland native shot a season-best even-par 72 in the second round to match Tate for team low in the round. Freshman Kayla Stewart finished one stroke behind Conaty with a 237 to tie for 67th. Freshman Rachel Larson finished with a 241 to tie for 79th and senior Bernie Rosero tied for 84th with a 244. Memphis will next compete in the John Kirk/Lay Panther Intercollegiate on April 3-4 at Georgia State. UNLV Spring Invite
