First Round Results in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

OXFORD, Miss. - Marissa Steen posted a career-high six birdies and carded an opening-round 71 to lead Memphis on the first day of the Rebel Intercollegiate.

Steen's one-under-par 71 at the Ole Miss Golf Course put her in a three-way share of second with two rounds left to play. She trails Virginia Espejo (68) from Southern Miss by three strokes for the individual lead.

The Lady Tigers carded a team score of 309 in the first round and are currently tied for 13th position with Murray State.

"The course's elevation gave the team some problems," Harrelson said. "But, I'm proud of the way we held it together, and we'll look to improve tomorrow."

Julia Hodgson turned in a 76 on Friday and is tied for 31st, while Kathleen Glavin's 79 gave her a share of 60th position. Ashley Kees posted an 83 in the first-round and is tied for 88th position. Alex Aläng was disqualified.

Cross-state foe Tennessee leads the event after turning in a team score of 290 (+2) in the first round. Tournament-host Ole Miss, Maryland, and Coastal Carolina are all tie for second after posting 298's.

The Rebel Intercollegiate continues Saturday, April 2 with the second round set to begin at 8 a.m. (CT). Live scoring is available via www.golfstat.com.
