OXFORD, Miss. - The University of Memphis women's golf team carded a final-round team score of 311 and turned in a tournament-total of 928 to finish 15th in the Rebel Intercollegiate. Marissa Steen led the way for the Lady Tigers by posting a 54-hole total of 226 (71-78-77) and finishing in a tie for 25th position. Julia Hodgson posted a final-round 77 and finished in a tie for 42nd, while Kathleen Glavin posted a second-consecutive 77 to finish in a share of 54th position. Ashley Kees finished tied for 83rd with scores of 83-77-84, and Alex Aläng carded a final-round 80. The Lady Tigers finished 15th in the 18-team field with a three-round total of 928. Tennessee won the event with a tournament-record team mark of 863, besting the previous low of 877 by Tulane. Tulsa (300-293-300--893) finished second while the Green Wave (299-307-292--898) came in third. Volunteer teammates Erica Popson and Nathalie Mansson were tied for the individual lead after three rounds, forcing a sudden-death playoff. Mannson defeated Popson on the third playoff hole to claim the individual crown. Memphis has two weeks off before its regular-season finale at the Conference USA Tournament at Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club. The C-USA Championship course is a familiar loop for the Lady Tigers, as they won both the 2009 and 2010 UAB Beach Blast events at that course.
