@MemphisWGolf 17th after First Day of Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. - The University of Memphis women's golf team finished the first day of the Rebel Intercollegiate with a score of 317 (+29) and currently sit in 17th place out of 18 teams heading into the final day of the tournament.

Leighann Cabush and Julia Gerlach shot the low rounds for the Lady Tigers with each finishing the day at 78 strokes (+6).

Ashley Kees finished the first round with an 80 (+8), followed by Shelby Sain and Ashleigh Whisenant who both finished with 81 (+9).

The field of 18 teams features five ranked in the top-50 nationally, led by No. 32 GRU Augusta, the lone team to finish the first round under par at 286 (-2).

Due to expected inclement weather Sunday, teams will complete 36-holes starting with a shotgun start Saturday morning.
