The University of Memphis women's golf team posted a third-round team total of 311, its lowest of the year, to finish in 10th at the 2009 Rebel Intercollegiate hosted by Ole Miss. Rachel Larson's 74 helped lead the Lady Tigers past Belmont and South Alabama in the final round.

Larson recorded four bogeys and two birdies on her way to a 74, her lowest round of the season. Her three-day total 232 (81-77-74) left her in a tie for 24th place. Marissa Steen carded a final round 77 that got her into a tie for 12th place. Leslie Grabeman rebounded in the final round, shooting 78 finish in a tie for 58th place. Kathleen Glavin and Caitlin McDonald turned in rounds of 82 and 92, respectively.

"I've been saying that Rachel was really close to putting it all together, and today she finally proved me right," said Lady Tiger head coach Beth Harrelson. "She's been this close all spring, so I'm happy that she finally put it all together. I'm also really proud of Marissa. She posted three strong, consistent rounds that showed she can compete with anyone."

The Lady Tigers totaled a season-low 311 in the final round, giving them a three-day total of 954 and earning them 10th place.

"I'm very proud and excited for our team today," said Coach Harrelson. "Shooting our season-low today shows how much we are continuing to improve. Hopefully, we can carry this good play into the Conference USA tournament."

Tulane held onto its lead by shooting a team-total of 294 in the last round, giving the Green Wave a three day total of 889. Ole Miss (901) finished second.

Ole Miss senior Dori Carter captured her first career tournament victory as she won the Rebel Intercollegiate. Carter finished the day tied for first place with Linn Gustafsson of Tulane as each player finished the event with a total score of 217, resulting in a sudden death playoff. Carter birdied the first playoff hole, giving her the victory.

The Lady Tigers will return home before traveling to Tulsa, Okla. on April 12 for the Conference USA tournament.
