Lady Tigers Place Eighth For Best Finish Of The Season

Hattiesburg, MS - The Memphis Lady Tiger golf team shot a final round of 325 and finished in eighth place at the Southern Mississippi Lady Eagle Invitational played at Shadow Ridge Golf Club in Hattiesburg. Mia Davidsson of Southern Mississippi and Gretchen Zoeller of College of Charleston tied for the individual titles with scores of 224 during their three rounds of competition. Memphis freshman Kathryn O'Rourke and senior Jennifer Jaszek tied for honors among Lady Tiger golfers after posting scores of 238 during the 54-holes event. Both O'Rourke and Jaszek tied for 25th place. The College of Charleston, which led the competition after 36-holes, claimed the team championship with a score of 910. Campbell University was second with a 924, while host Southern Mississippi was third at 928. Georgia State placed fourth at 929 and Birmingham Southern rounded out the top five with a team total of 932. The Lady Tiger team will close the 2004 spring season at the Conference USA Championships on April 19-21 in Fort Worth, Texas.
