RICHMOND, Ky.—Alex Aläng posted rounds of 75-73 to lead Memphis into a three-way tie for the lead at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic. The Lady Tigers posted scores of 302-303 on day one at the Arlington Club and are tied for the lead with Arkansas State and Morehead State.

Aläng is tied for third individually after two rounds of play. Marissa Steen continued her strong play by turning in scores of 76-74 on day one. Julia Hodgson, who posted a career-low 74 in the first round, is in a tie for 14th after shooting a 78 in round two. Kathleen Glavin and Sarah Mathews both posted two-round totals of 158 and are tied for 38th position.

This is the first time Memphis has led going into the final round this season. The Lady Tigers came from behind in each of their two previous victories this season (UAB Fall Beach Blast and USA Lady Jaguar Invitational).

Marissa Steen is going for her third consecutive top-five finish this weekend. She earned medalist honors at the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational and followed that up with a fifth place finish at the Cincinnati Spring Invitational.

Memphis is seeking to win three tournaments in the same season for the first time since the 1996-97 season, when it won the Memphis Women's Invitational, the Lady Panther Invitational, and the Conference USA Championship.

The Lady Tigers will finish up play at the EKU Lady Colonel Sunday with the playing the third and final round. Play is scheduled for an 8:15 a.m. (ET) start and will follow a shotgun format.
