Lady Tigers Fall to Fourth at Conference USA Championship

The University of Memphis Lady Tiger golf team turned in their highest score of the 2002 Conference USA Championship in the final round and dropped to a fourth place finish in this year's event. TCU, which had been tied with Memphis for second entering the final 18 holes, won the championship with a team score of 886. Memphis fell to 909.

Brooke Tull, of TCU, won medalist honors with a score of 215. Tull carded a final round 69 to win the championship and claim Player of the Year honors. Memphis's Meaghan Francella finished seventh with a 54-hole total score of 222. Francella was named first team All-Conference USA and teammate Jennifer Jaszek was selected to the second team All-C-USA squad.

Tulane placed second in this year's competition and coach Sue Bower was selected as the C-USA Coach of the Year. South Florida placed third, while Memphis and UAB rounded out the top five.
