C-USA Day Two Results Get Acrobat Reader

GULF SHORES, Ala. - University of Memphis juniors Alex Aläng and Julia Hodgson fired rounds of 75 and 78, respectively, to lead all Lady Tiger competitors throughout the second round of the 2012 Conference USA Championship.

Aläng (78-75--153) shot a team-low score of 75 during day two of the three-day tournament to remain tied for 17th place, while Hodgson (78-78--156) will enter tomorrow's final round of play in sole possession of 23rd place.

Senior Marissa Steen (75-82--157) fell from her day one seventh-place position to 24th, by shooting a second round score of 82. Junior Sarah Mathews is currently tied for a share of 30th place with rounds of 79-81--160 to her credit, while Kathleen Glavin (81-82--163) carded a second round score of 82 to slip five spots to 37th place.

As a team, Memphis (310-316--626) fell two spots to sixth-place, as East Carolina (319-302--621) and SMU (313-311--624) climbed the leaderboard to fourth and fifth-place, respectively.

The tournament's top three teams remain unchanged after the second round of play, with No. 33 Tulsa (299-291--590) continuing to lead the field behind a strong day two score of 291. No. 32 Tulane (301-296--597) and No. 38 UCF (306-293--599) continue to retain possession of second and third-place, respectively.

Marita Engzelius (first-place, Tulsa), Maribel Porras-Lopez (second-place, Tulane) and Caitlin Watts (third-place, UAB) continue to vie for the tournament's top individual honors.

The C-USA Championship's third and final round of play is slated to begin tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m., and live scoring will be available via GolfStat.com.
