Lady Tigers Finish Sixth at Badger Invitational Memphis places three in the top-20

VERONA, Wis.- Senior Kathryn O'Rourke led the way for the Lady Tigers as the University of Memphis women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Badger Women's Golf Invitational. O'Rourke shot an 18-over-par 234 (81-74-79) to finish tied for 12th in the Lady Tigers' first fall tournament.

For the second-straight day, steady rain and wind pelted the University of Wisconsin's University Ridge Golf Course, making it difficult to post low scores. However, the University of Memphis women's golf team remained competitive and came away with its first top-10 finish of the season.

Junior Dawn-Marie Conaty and sophomore Rachel Larson turned in strong performances to join O'Rourke in the top 20. Conaty was just one stroke behind O'Rourke as the third round came to an end Tuesday afternoon. The Dublin, Ireland, native finished tied for 15th with a 235 (78-80-75).

After turning in rounds of 75 and 81 on day one, Larson posted a final round 80 to finish tied for 19th with a final score of 236.

Senior Stacey Tate rebounded from a lackluster day one performance by shooting a final round 75. The Auckland, New Zealand, native turned in a 239 (80-84-75) to tie for 27th. Tate missed finishing among the low 20 scores by just three strokes.

Senior Cameron Barber rounded out the Lady Tiger lineup by carding a 245 (82-82-81).

Memphis' final score of 942 (314-317-311) was good enough to finish in sole possession of sixth place, four strokes behind rival Louisville, to narrowly miss claiming a spot in the top five.

The Lady Tigers will return to action when they head out to Highlands Ranch, Colo., Sept. 25-26 for the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Denver.
