Lady Tigers Finish 10th in Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate

Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Moving up two places, the University of Memphis women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Alabama on Tuesday. Sophomore Stacey Tate tied for 17th place with a 77 in the second round for a total score of 156, 12-over-par. All five Lady Tiger golfers improved on their first round scores with four shooting a 78 or lower on Tuesday. Finishing in a tie for 26th place individually, sophomore Meghan Mahoney shot a 5-over-par 77, finishing with a total of 159. Sophomore Kathryn O'Rourke tied for 41st place, junior Bernie Rosero tied for 48th place and freshman Ashleigh Garman tied for 65th place. Tulane University finished first in the tournament with a 596, 20-over-par. Alabama's Megan George captured medalist honors with a 74-69--143, 1-under-par. Mississippi State's Beth Irwin, a Germantown native and the daughter of University of Memphis professor Richard Irwin, took third individually with a 73-73--146, 2-over-par. The Lady Tigers will play in the University of Kentucky Wildcat Fall Invitational in Lexington, Ky., on October 1-3. Team Final Finishes 1. Tulane University 298 298 596 +20 2.
