@MemphisWGolf in 10th Place After Day One of Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational

WEST POINT, Miss. – The University of Memphis women’s golf team shot a 313 (+25) and currently sits in 10th place after round one of the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational in West Point, Miss.
Junior Ashleigh Whisenant shot a team-leading 75 in Monday’s opening round and is currently tied for 22nd place. Whisenant shot a 40 on her first nine holes, but shot a 35 (eight pars, one birdie) after the turn.
Freshman Leighann Cabush is in 32nd place after a round of 77. Cabush led the team with three birdies in today’s round.
Tournament host Mississippi State leads the field after shooting a 281 in round one. East Carolina is in second after shooting a 289, eight shots behind the Bulldogs.
Ally McDonald of Mississippi State leads the field at -5 (67), two shots ahead of teammate Jessica Peng.
Round two will be played on Tuesday using split tee times. The round will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT Tuesday morning.
The Lady Tigers will be starting on the back nine for the second consecutive day, and will be teeing off at the following times:
- Andrea Cropper (8:30 a.m.)
- Shelby Sain (8:41 a.m.)
- Ashley Kees (8:52 a.m.)
- Leighann Cabush (9:03 p.m.)
- Ashleigh Whisenant (9:14 a.m.)
Wednesday's final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT.
