@MemphisWGolf Moves Up To Seventh Place After Round Two at Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational

WEST POINT, Miss. - The University of Memphis women's golf team shot a season-best round of 300 (+12) in the second round of the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational in West Point, Miss.
The Lady Tigers started the day in 10th place but moved up to seventh by the end of Tuesday's round.
Ashley Kees shot the best round of the day for Memphis, finishing with a two-over-par 74 (38-36). Kees sits tied for 31st after two rounds (79-74 - 153).
Ashleigh Whisenant is tied for 21st through two rounds, and is the top performer for the Lady Tigers so far. Whisenant shot a 75 (40-35) in Tuesday's round, her second consecutive back-nine score of 35.
Leighann Cabush also shot a 75 and posted a team-leading three birdies for the second consecutive round. Cabush is currently tied for 28th place.
The round of 300 is the lowest in a single round for Memphis since the second round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational last season (Oct. 30-31, 2012).
Tournament host Mississippi State remains in first place after two rounds, with a team score of 569. East Carolina is in second place with a score of 579.
Wednesday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT.
