Lady Tigers Hold on to Third Place at Wildcat Fall Invitational

Lexington, Ky. - Stacey Tate shot a final round 1-under-par 71 on Sunday to tie for second at the Wildcat Fall Invitational and help the University of Memphis women's golf team held on to third place in the tournament. Tate, a sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand shot a 74-79-71 for a combined 224 to finish five strokes behind the medal winner Amanda Mathis from Mississippi State. The Lady Tigers had rounds of 309-311-314 for a 934 54-hole total and trailed second place University of Miami by six strokes. Sophomore Meghan Mahoney tied for 15th place with a career best 76-75-81--232. Rounding out the Lady Tiger Five, Kathryn O'Rourke finished 30th, Ashleigh Garman tied for 39th and Bernie Rosero took 60th. Mississippi State won the 12-school tournament hosted by the University of Kentucky with a 302-299-297--898. Germantown, Tenn. native Beth Irwin tied for 11th place with a 80-76-74--230. The Lady Tigers will next play in the Pat Bradley Women's Golf Championship in Miami, Fla., beginning October 8.
