GREENVILLE, S.C.- The University of Memphis women's golf team rallied from an opening round of 311 at the Lady Paladin Invitational by firing rounds of 307 and 306 en route to a 924. Memphis jumped from a tie for seventh-place after the opening round to sole possession of second place in a 17-team field at the fall season's final tournament.

Senior Stacey Tate opened the tournament with a 2-over-par 74 to put herself in a tie for fourth-place, however a second-round 76 dropped Tate back into a fifth-place tie. The Auckland, New Zealand, native responded by firing a 69 on Sunday to claim third-place honors and her second top-five finish of the fall.

With the 3-under-par final round, Tate tied the fifth-lowest round in school history for the second time this fall. Tate shot a 69 in the first-round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate on September 25th.

Sophomore Rachel Larson followed Tate and took her third top-20 finish of the year by firing a 233 (78-74-81). The Longmont, Colo., native finished the tournament tied for 17th.

Junior Dawn-Marie Conaty narrowly missed out on her second top-20 appearance of the fall by finishing tied for 27th. Her three-round total of 237 (80-77-80) was only two strokes behind the top-20 finishers.

Senior Cameron Barber turned in a 241 (79-83-79) and classmate Kathryn O'Rourke was right behind her with a 242 (84-80-78).

The Lady Tigers complete the fall portion of their schedule with four top-ten finishes, three top-fives, and one tournament win in four events. After returning to Memphis, the women's golf team will look to fine tune their game for the upcoming spring schedule which begins with the Baja Invitational, which is set to take place Feb. 5-6, 2007 in Ensenada, Mexico.
