Junior Leslie Grabeman fired opening rounds of 76-79 to lead the Lady Tigers into 7th place at the Lady Red Wolf Classic. The tournament is being held at the par-71 6,111-yard Jonesboro Country Club with Arkansas State serving as the tournament host.

Grabeman is in a tie for 8th after posting a two-round total of 155. She is followed by Marissa Steen and Rachel Larson who posted totals of 156 (78-78) and 156 (81-75), respectively to tie for 11th. Freshman Kathleen Glavin shot rounds of 85-83 to tie for 55th. Caitlin McDonald posted a total of 179 after posting a season-low 88 in the morning round.

The Lady Tigers posted a team total of 635 (320-315) and are in 7th place.

"I'm extremely proud of the way we played out there today. We got off to a rough start this season, but I think we showed a glimpse of what we're capable of today. This could be a first step in the process of turning the corner," said Lady Tiger head coach Beth Harrelson.

Junior Leslie Grabeman has her eyes set on her second top ten individual finish of the year. In the Cincinnati Fall Classic, Grabeman posted round of 78-76-72 to finish tied for 10th.

"Leslie is having a great season so far. She's been working hard in practice lately, and it's starting to pay off," said Coach Harrelson.

Drake University leads the Lady Red Wolf Classic after posting a two-round team total of 611 (306-305). Central Arkansas is two shots back at 613 (304-309). Nicole Forshner of Central Arkansas leads the individual competition after firing rounds of 74-72.

The Lady Red Wolf Classic will resume tomorrow morning, October 14 at 8:00 a.m. (CT).
