Memphis Finishes 13th at Lady Paladin Invitational

For Immediate Release GREENVILLE, S.C. - The University of Memphis women's golf team shot a final round 308 to finish in a tie for 13th place at the Lady Paladin Invitational on Sunday. Junior Stacey Tate led the Lady Tigers to a 318-307-308--933 finish with a 32nd place individual tie after shooting a three-round best 76 in the final round. The New Zealand native finished two strokes ahead of junior Cameron Barber for the team lead with a 79-77-76--232. Barber also shot a 76 in the final round to finish tied for 45th with a 77-81-76--234. Tournament host Furman University held on to the top place finishing with an 894, five strokes ahead of second place Mississippi State. TCU placed third in the tournament with a 903. Christina Jones of USF earned medalist honors with a 2-over 73-72-73--218. Freshman Rachel Larson shot the low round on Sunday matching a career best 75. She finished tied for 69th with an 86-80-75--241. Junior Kathryn O'Rourke tied for 63rd with an 81-74-82--237 and freshman Kayla Stewart tied for 65th with a 81-76-81--238. The Lady Tigers will compete in their final fall tournament at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C. on Oct. 31 to Nov. 1.
