@MemphisWGolf Tied for Seventh After Day One at FIU Pat Bradley Invitational

BRADENTON, Fla. – Junior Ashley Kees shot a opening round 70 and is tied for fourth place at the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club.
Kees shot a 35 on both the front and back nines in shooting the best round of the day for Memphis. The 18-hole score of 70 is the best single-round mark for Kees in her Memphis career.
As a team, the Lady Tigers shot a 300 and are tied for seventh after day one of the event. The team score of 300 matches a season best for Memphis, also set in round two at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational on Oct. 1.
Kees sits three shots behind individual leader Taylor Gohn of Missouri entering Monday’s second round. Gohn shot a 67 in round one.
Freshman Leighann Cabush is tied for 19th with five other golfers after shooting a 73 in round one. That score is the best 18-hole for Cabush so far in her Memphis career.
Tournament host FIU shot a team score of 287 and leads the event by three shots over Maryland. Memphis is tied for seventh with North Texas, 13 shots behind FIU.
