@MemphisWGolf Shoots a Season-Best Round of 298 at FIU Pat Bradley Invitational

BRADENTON, Fla. - The University of Memphis women's golf shot a season-best score of 298 in round two of the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational on Tuesday. The team score of 298 is the best mark since the Lady Tigers carded a 294 at the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge on Feb. 28, 2012.
Through the event's first two rounds, Memphis remains tied for seventh with a score of 598 (300-298). The Lady Tigers sit 18 shots behind event leader Daytona State College (293-287 - 580), and are just two shots behind sixth-place Cincinnati (302-294 - 596).
Shelby Sain and Ashleigh Whisenant led the Lady Tigers on day two by each shooting an even-par round of 72. Sain moved up to 33rd place after starting the day tied for 50th, while Whisenant jumped 23 places from 60th to 37th.
Both Sain and Whisenant carded their career-best 18-hole scores with Monday's even-par rounds. Through two rounds, Sain, Whisenant, Ashley Kees and Leighann Cabush have each set career best 18-hole marks (Kees and Cabush did so in round one).
Kees shot a 78 in round two and is tied for 21st after two rounds. Cabush posted a 76 on Monday, and is tied for 26th, one shot behind Kees.
Julia Gerlach shot an 81 to round out the Memphis scoring.
The final round at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club starts at 8:00 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning. The Memphis golfers will start their rounds on the following holes:
- Ashley Kees: Hole 7
- Leighann Cabush: Hole 7
- Ashleigh Whisenant: Hole 8
- Shelby Sain: Hole 8
- Julia Gerlach: Hole 9
