Lady Tigers in 6th after Second Round of Home Event

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's golf team hosted their home event, the FedEx Memphis Women's Intercollegiate at Ridgeway Country Club and posted scores of 316 and 311 in the first two rounds. The Lady Tigers are in sixth place with one round left. Alex Aläng is tied for seventh place after shooting 78-75 to lead the Lady Tigers.
Aläng started the day with a 78 in the first round, before improving to post a 75 in the second round. Julia Hodgson played very consistent on the first day, carding 77's in both rounds, to sit in a tie for 11th place. Ashley Kees carded a 75 in the first round before shooting 83 in round two. She is currently tied for 18th.
Ashleigh Whisenant, Natalie Turk and Shelby Sain all are participating as individuals. Whisenant posted scores of 77 and 78 to finish in a tie for 12th while Turk shot 83-75 and is tied for 18th. Sain shot 87 in the first round and improved on that to card a 78 in the second round.
Samford holds the 36-hole lead after shooting 304-302 for a total of 606. Samford's Natalie Mitchell also holds the individual lead, posting scores of 71 and 74 for a total of 145.
The third and final round will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday at Ridgeway Country Club with a shotgun start.
