Women's Golf Tied for 14th

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The University of Memphis women's golf team is tied with the College of Charleston for 14th place at the Furman University Lady Paladin Classic. Memphis shot an opening round 313, 25 strokes over par. North Carolina and host Furman are currently tied for 1st place with a seven over par 295, while fellow C-USA member Tulane is third one stroke back with a 296. South Carolina is fourth at 302 and Louisville and Mississippi are tied for fifth at 303. North Carolina's Ashley Prange was one of just four players to shoot under par, firing a two-under 70. Carolin Landman (Tulane), Jenny Gleason (UNC-Greensboro) and Abby Spector (North Carolina) were the only other golfers under par with a 71. Memphis' Marianne Ruud is tied for 33rd after shooting an opening round 77, while Danielle Reilly is tied for 39th with her opening round 78. The second round of the tournament will tee off at 8:30 a.m. (ET), Saturday. The Lady Paladin Classic is the Tigers' last tournament of the fall. Memphis' spring season tees off Feb. 28th at the Carolinas Classic.
