Lady Tigers in Fifth Place After Second Round

PINEHURST, N.C. - PINEHURST, N.C. - The University of Memphis women's golf team is in a tie for fifth place after the second round at the Ross Resorts Invitational hosted by Rollins College. In the second round of the day, the Lady Tigers combined to shoot one stroke better than the first round, scoring 317-316--633. Memphis is tied with the University of Richmond and is 13 strokes behind the leader, Baylor University. Sophomore Stacey Tate took the lead for the U of M, matching her first round score with a 6-over-par 78. Tate is tied for 12th place, four strokes behind the leader, Birmingham Southern's Shelley McGraw. One stroke behind Tate is junior Bernie Rosero who came back from a first round 82 to shoot a 75 in the second. The second round score is 5.3 strokes lower than Rosero's fall second-round average. Rosero enters the final round tied for 17th place. The Lady Tigers complete the tournament and their fall schedule on Tuesday in a final third round.
