Tigers Conclude Day One of the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic
March 16, 2007 BATON ROUGE, La. - Memphis is trying to stay strong against some of the nation's best golfers, finishing in 20th after round one of competition at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic. The Lady Tigers concluded day one with a 38-over-par score of 326. Leading the way for the Lady Tigers are senior golfer Stacey Tate and junior golfer Dawn-Marie Conaty. Each are tied for 32nd going into the second round. Both reported a 5-over-par score of 77. Eight strokes behind Tate and Conaty is Kathryn O'Rourke. The senior is tied in 96th going into the second round. O'Rourke shot a 13-over-par score of 85 in the first round. Junior golfer Meghan Mahoney and sophomore golfer Rachel Larson finished round one in 102nd place. Both reporting a 15-over-par score of 87. After day one, Vanderbilt leads the tournament with a 6-over-par score of 294, followed by Duke and Tennessee. Amanda Blumenherst of Duke leads the competition with a 4-under-par score of 68, followed by Vanderbilt's Jacqui Concolino, reporting a 3-under-par score of 69. Memphis is looking to improve during the second round of the tournament and hopes to stay strong against some of the nation's best golfers. The second round tees off Saturday at 8:00 a.m. The first Tiger to tee off will be Mahoney at 8:30 a.m., followed by Larson at 8:39 a.m., O'Rourke at 8:48 a.m., Conaty at 8:57 a.m. and Tate at 9:06 a.m. Live stats can be found at golfstat.com.
