MEMPHIS - The University of Memphis women's golf team will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss. for the 17th Annual Lady Eagle Invitational on March 21-22 at Hattiesburg Country Club.

"I am excited to get back into competition so quickly after the last tournament," University of Memphis women's golf coach Beth Harrelson said.

The Lady Eagle Invitational features a small, eight-team field: Belmont, Jackson State, Memphis, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin, Troy and West Florida. The par-72, 6,143-yard Hattiesburg Country Club will host the tournament, which is set to begin Monday, March 21 at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.

"The girls are playing well, and we expect to compete for the tournament title," Harrelson said.

Memphis competed in the 15th Annual Lady Eagle Invitational in March 2009, finishing eighth as a team behind Kathleen Glavin's 12th place individual performance. That event was held at Canbrake Golf Club, however.
