CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla.—Kathleen Glavin and Julia Hodgson carded opening round 76’s to lead the University of Memphis women’s golf team into eighth place at the Cincinnati Spring Invitational.

Glavin and Hodgson are in a tie for 13th place individually. Sarah Mathews turned in a 79 in the first round and is in a tie for 39th place. Marissa Steen, who earned medalist honors in her last tournament, is in a tie for 56th after posting an 81 in the first round. Alex Aläng carded an 84 and is in a tie for 78th position.

Memphis posted a team total of 312 in round one and currently sits in eighth place, 13 strokes behind first round leaders Illinois and Montana.

Rain overnight caused a slight delay in tee times earlier in the morning. Round two is currently underway and all efforts will be made to complete it before darkness sets in.
